mentioning that another reason for moving the location of the page frame is to
optimize the available UMBs. It is possible for the page frame to split a free
area into two smaller free areas. By moving the page frame the two small free
areas can be made into one big and more useful free area. In the first
instance. However, finding a page frame location that works is usually the
first priority!
If you are using
application that make use of the LIM 4.0 expanded memory standard then in
principle at least the requirement for a single 64KByte page frame is dropped.
In practice many application that claim to conform to LIM 4.0 still need a single
64KByte page frame. However, if you cannot find a suitable free area and you
know that the applications will tolerate it, you can allocate four separate
16KByte page frames instead of a single 64KByte page frame using.
